Bob Moser, a native of North Carolina, has been contributing articles to The Nation since 2003. His articles focus on the relationship between the Democrats and the South and the popular misconception that Southern ideals and values are at odds with the politics of the Democratic Party.
Moser’s articles have appeared in The Independent, Rolling Stone, and Out. His article about the murder of a transgender teen, "The Murder of a Boy Named Gwen," won the 2006 GLAAD Media Award for outstanding magazine article of the year.
His new book, The Way Down South, detailing opportunities for progressives to build a multi-racial movement and long-term governing coalition, will be published in summer 2008.
