Naftali Bendavid is deputy Washington bureau chief for the Chicago Tribune. Beginning in 1997, he has served as the paper's Justice Department correspondent and White House correspondent. His new book The Thumpin’: How Rahm Emanuel and the Demorcrats Learned to Be Ruthless and Ended the Republican Revolution was published in May 2007.
